Granite Countertops for Kitchen
When it comes to kitchen furnishings, many home owners prefer granite countertops. This is due to the long lasting and durable features of granite countertops. However, this kind of countertop furnishing can be a bit costly compared to others. Fortunately, by just being a wise shopper, you can still save some money while purchasing granite countertops.
Like any other types of furnishings, granite countertops are also available in different colors. Unique-colored granite countertops tend to be more expensive than common-colored ones. For example, black granite with hints or gold and brown granite with strikes of red are very expensive. High quality granite such as the light brown, tan or beige in color tends to be expensive as well. Neutral colors on the other hand are more popular in the market and thus they are priced lower. The price of granite countertops also depends on whether they are tiles or slabs. Large granite slabs that are cut to order are more expensive than tiles because it is more costly to install a countertop surface with fewer seams.
Another factor that affects the price of granite countertops is its thickness. The thicker the granite countertop is, the more expensive it will be. However, you must bear in mind that thicker countertops are more durable and less destructible.
